Riot Games has officially confirmed it is making a mobile version of Valorant, its competitive tactical shooter. The announcement came through the game's official account on X.
Who's building it
The port is in the hands of LIGHTSPEED, the Chinese studio known for its work on PUBG Mobile, one of the most-played shooters on phones. The choice makes sense: few companies have as much experience bringing the precision of a PC shooter to a touchscreen.
Where and when
China will be the first market to get Valorant Mobile, in a limited launch. The developers plan to expand to other regions later, but for now there are no dates and no details on platforms, pricing or gameplay changes.
Why it matters
Valorant is one of the biggest names in PC esports. Bringing it to mobile opens it up to a far larger audience, especially in Asia, where competitive phone gaming dominates. The big question is how a shooter so dependent on pinpoint aim and pacing will translate.
